The Future -- Hydra-α Series
The Hydra Series' Model-4 and Model-6 incorporate the profound advances in measurement science and noise isolation that earned Shunyata Research's Hydra Triton and Hydra Talos awards and endorsements from media outlets and recording studios the world over. Both models core-design elements are identical to those found in Shunyata's award-winning Triton design, however both cost less than half the Triton's retail price. No competing power-distributor or conditioner offers the Hydra-α Series performance, measurable superiority or value at double or even triple their reasonable retail prices. The Hydra-α Model-4 and Hydra-α Model-6 represent real-world references in power-delivery that come without the high-cost, system complications or peak-current limiting of traditional "reference" conditioner offerings. Hydra-α Core Design DTCD (Dynamic Transient Current Delivery) is the measurement of peak current delivery critical to the optimal performance of audio-video electronics systems. Shunyata's ability to objectively quantify and reduce in-line resistance to peak current represents a dramatic advantage in creating superior power-distribution products, and systems. Both the Hydra-α Model-4 and Hydra-α Model-6 use Shunyata's exclusive ZPP-DS Buss system, SR-Z1 outlets and VTX (Virtual Tube Wire) that were previously only available in Shunyata's Reference Triton and Talos models. Component-to-Component Interference (CCI) Shunyata's pioneering use of a 30 element Multi-Phase-Differential-Array (MPDA) filter network eschews the use of capacitors and other reactive elements in favor of micro-filters tuned to filter the specific frequencies of noise commonly associated with electronic power supply emmisions and those frequencies of noise found on power grid. MPDA advances Shunyata's exclusive model of addressing the primary source noise that affects systems; Component-to-Component Interference (CCI), without compromising the critical design features and function of top-performing electronics systems. The Hydra-α 4 and Hydra-α 6 models are the first and only power-distribution units outside of Shunyata's own Hydra Triton and Talos models to benefit from this computer-modeled filter-network. The Originals -- Hydra Model 4 and Model 6 The Hydra Model-4 and Hydra Model-6 were introduced in 2002 and quickly defined a new category of performance oriented high-current power-distribution. During the nine years that followed they became Shunyata Research's top selling Hydra products of all-time. The Hydra-4 and Hydra-6 provided exceptional protection and performance for all manner of professional and consumer audio and video systems. More importantly, they provided extreme value and flexibility by incorporating Shunyata's technologies into more affordably priced designs.
