Shunyata's third generation of Hydra represent a significant breakthrough in science that delivers a profound improvement in the performance high-resolution music, sound and recording systems that use Hydra power distribution. Shunyata used its own DTCD (Dynamic Transient Current Analyzer) to make profound improvements in the area of peak-current delivery to electronics. At virtually the same time, Shunyata Research developed its groundbreaking MPDA (Multi-Phase Differential Array) filter technology. This MPDA technology eliminates the use of traditional capacitors in favor of a vastly improved noise-targeting micro-filter array that has NO reactance. Hydra Generation 3 models include the Hydra-α Series Model-2, 4 and 6 as well as the Reference models Triton, Talos and Cyclops.
